Senior Nutrition Program

SENIOR CAFE LUNCHES ARE CANCELLED, BUT OUR MEALS ON WHEELS PROGRAM IS STILL OPERATING.  ALL QUALIFIED SENIORS 60 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER CAN RECEIVE MEAL DELIVERY SERVICE DURING THE CURRENT CRISIS.  YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE HOME BOUND BY HEALTH OR TRANSPORTATION ISSUES.  IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO REGISTER FOR MEAL DELIVERY, PLEASE CONTACT THE CENTER AT 734-449-2295 OR VIA EMAIL AT averillt@northfieldmi.gov  

Congregate Meals
Persons over the age of 60 are invited for a hot meal, nutrition education, and opportunity for socialization.
Nutritious noontime meals are served Monday, Wednesday & Friday at 12:00p.m. at the Northfield Township Community Center, 9101 Main St., Whitmore Lake.  Participants are encouraged to share in the cost of the meal.  Suggested contribution is $3.00 for ages 60 and up; however people will not be turned away because of inability to pay. Those under the age of 60 are welcome to attend, but will be charged the full price of $5.50 for the meal.  Reservations may be made by calling 734-449-2295 one week in advance. 

Home Delivered Meals
This option delivers meals to ill and frail persons in their homes.  A liquid dietary supplement can be provided to homebound seniors who are at nutritional risk.  Call 734-449-2295.

Reflexology is therapeutic foot massage, designed to stimulate the body’s healing abilities naturally.  The Community Center is excited to welcome Certified Reflexologist, Lisa Abrams to the Center. Lisa uses a gentle massage technique which is highly effective in helping the body heal.  A reflexology session is 1 hour and costs $55; $45 for seniors.  Lisa also offers IonCleanse Foot Baths which help detoxify the body. A foot bath is 30 minutes and costs $45.
