County Clean-up Day
Saturday, June 9 from 9:00am-2:00pm
Northfield Township is hosting it's 5th annual Clean-up Day, Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 9am-2pm at the Northfield Township Public Safety Building.
What to bring:
- Traditional recyclable materials (glass, cardboard, plastic, paper, scrap metal)
- Appliances (refrigerator, dryer, a/c unit, etc.)
- Household hazardous materials (paint, pesticides, cleaning supplies, oil, etc.)
- Electronics (TV, computer, etc.)
- Bulky household items (mattress, furniture, etc.)
- Construction and demolition waste (drywall, wood, bricks, etc.)
- Please consider a minimum donation of $10.00 to help support this effort.
- Bring 4 tires for free. We request a donation of $5 for each additional tire.
- Bring 1 TV, computer or appliance for free. We request a donation of $10 for each additional item.
This event is for Washtenaw County residents. Sorry, but we can’t accept materials from businesses or out-of-county residents.

Northfield Township Area Library Community Picnics
Kick back and enjoy the summer evening with your neighbors on the lawn with music, games, and laughter. Whitmore Lake Public Schools will be hosting a storytime for elementary aged kids, and they will be giving away books for the kiddos to add to their home library. This is a BYOM (bring your own meal) event. The Library will provide lemonade and water.
Community Picnics will be held from 6:00PM-7:30PM on the following dates:
- Friday, June 15
- Friday, July 20
- Friday, August 17

German Park Recreation Club Annual Picnics
The German Park Recreation Club hosts three picnics the last Saturday in June, July, and August. Admission gate open 4–9 pm; Park closes at 11 pm.

4th of July Festivities

- Fireworks at 10:00 pm (dusk)
Enjoy a thrilling and patriotic fireworks display set off from the center of the lake! Please respect private property and keep our community clean. Rain date is Sunday, July 1. Vendors will be on site. This show is solely funded and made possible by donations from our community.

- 4th of July Parade at 10:00am
Gather all your friends and family and come down to Main Street for the parade! Enjoy a patriotic and festive display of fire trucks, floats, decorated bicycles and more! This year's theme: America's Super Heroes.
The Parade starts on Barker Road and proceeds down Main Street ending at the Public Safety Building.
To be a part of the parade, please submit a Parade Registration Form. Sponsored by Kiwanis Clubs.
- Root Beer Float Social starting at Noon
Celebrate the 4th of July with a FREE Root Beer Float at the Community Center!
Starts after the parade until we run out of supplies!

- Banana Split Eating Contest at 3:00PM
Contestants in six age groups will devour banana splits for prizes in this tasty event. Enjoy a refreshing ice cream treat and cheer for your favorite banana split eater! Sign up on July 4th between 2:00 and 3:00 to participate. Cost: $2.00. Space is limited.
- Boat Parade of Lights at 9:50PM
