Road Work Update 4/24/17
***NEW***
Beginning on April 25th at 9 pm through April 26th at 7 am:
Single lane closure on EB M-14 at Barton Dr
Single lane closure on WB M-14 at Nixon Dr.
Beginning April 24th through April 29th (nightly closures at various times):
Single lane closure on NB & SB US-23 from Six Mile to 8 Mile Rd
Beginning May 1st through May 6th (nightly closures at various times):
Single lane closures on NB & SB US-23 at Joy Rd for bridge work
**FROM 4/20/17**
6 Mile Road and North Territorial Road
On Wednesday, April 26, a new traffic pattern, or loop, will be implemented as part of construction on US-23:
- On 6 Mile Road at US-23, westbound traffic will be maintained, with eastbound traffic detoured to N. Territorial Road.
- On N. Territorial Road at US-23, eastbound traffic will be maintained, with westbound traffic detoured to 6 Mile Road.
This new traffic pattern will be in place until approximately mid-June. See DETOUR MAP below
North Territorial Road off-ramp
The southbound US-23 off-ramp to N. Territorial Road will be closed starting April 26 and will remain closed for approximately 1 month. The ramp is expected to reopen in late May.
The ramp closure is needed for ramp reconstruction and roundabout installation at the N. Territorial Road interchange.
The new traffic loop for 6 Mile Road and N. Territorial Road is needed to accommodate detoured traffic from the ramp closure.
A temporary traffic signal will be in place on the west side of the 6 Mile Road interchange when the new traffic pattern, or loop, is in place.
US-23
Next week, there will be a full, overnight closure of US-23 so crews can set beams at N. Territorial Road over US-23.
Southbound US-23
On Monday, April 24, starting at 9 p.m., southbound US-23 will be closed until 5 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25.
Northbound US-23
On Tuesday, April 25, starting at 9 p.m., northbound US-23 will be closed until 7 a.m. on Wednesday, April 26.
A detour will be posted each night the freeway is closed that uses the ramps at N. Territorial Road to take traffic on and off the freeway.
**FROM 4/3/17**
US-23 at Joy Road
Joy Road over US-23 will have one lane open on the bridge with a temporary signal.
The temporary signal is expected to be in place until mid-June.
**FROM 3/27/17**
Beginning on March 31st through approximately June 15th:
The SB US-23 off ramp to 8 mile will be closed. The closure is for ramp reconstruction and round-a-bout construction.
The detour is SB US-23 off ramp to M-36 to SB Whitmore Lake Rd to 8 Mile Rd.
Beginning on Monday, April 3rd through Monday, May 5th:
The 5 Mile Rd service drive at US-23 will be closed for the relocation of 5 Mile Rd. There will be no access to N. Territorial Road or the ramp to NB US-23.
The detour is Nollar Rd to N. Territorial Rd to US-23
