As Supervisor, I am here to serve the residents of Northfield
Township.
What does a township supervisor do? A supervisor in a township is what an executive administrator is to a business. Sharing the responsibilities of day to day operations with the Clerk and Treasurer’s Office, the office of the Supervisor is one that the resident usually looks to first for problems they are experiencing and who they turn to for help. A Supervisor needs to be accessible and responsive to the needs of citizens.
A Supervisors needs to be a consensus builder and a leader that sets the pace for moving the township forward. The Supervisor needs to be a champion for the community and work toward promoting the township within the context of the greater region as a whole.
A good Supervisor will strive to include all the positive elements of their township as they work toward common goals. They will enlist the assistance of the business community, the School District, non-profit groups and other community service organizations to achieve a common vision.
A good Supervisor will maintain positive relationships with neighboring communities and keep a regional mindset even at the local level.
A Supervisor’s job is to address inquires, complaints and receive
suggestions relating to not only township issues, but county, state, and
federal issues as well. I can’t guarantee that you will receive the answer
you were looking for, or that I will even have an answer to your questions;
however I will guarantee I will get you an answer or direct you to the right
person or agency that does have the answer to your question or can possibly
help you.
