PRESS RELEASE - 06/28/2016
Livingston County Fire Chief’s declare an Educational Burn Ban
"Due to the extremely dry environmental conditions, several areas havewitnessed small rapidly spreading field fires due to open burning or ignition of fireworks, the following Fire Departments have instituted a ban on open burning until further notice: Hamburg Township, Green Oak Charter Township, Putnam Township, UnadillaTownship, Hartland/Deerfield Fire Area and Howell Area Fire. Northfield Township from Washtenaw County.

Properly permitted recreational fires in fire pits will still be allowed for those citizens who wish to have a recreational fire during this Holiday weekend, but everyone is advised to use extreme caution. Those planning on using fireworks in their celebrations should remember that the conditions are very dry and make sure they are shooting over a safe area and have a water source available."

All area fire departments are requesting you to use caution while enjoying your holiday.

This Burn Ban shall remain in effect until such time that the environmental conditions improve or area fire departments remove said Burn Ban.”
