Election Information

The next election is on Tuesday, November 5th!

Register to Vote:  With the new state laws, you can register to vote up until the day of the election at your local Clerk’s office. To register to vote in Michigan you must be:

  • A resident of Michigan and the city or township where you are applying to register to vote for at least 30 days before election day.
  • A citizen of the United States of America.
  • At least 18 years of age by election day. 
  • Not serving a sentence in jail or prison.
PLEASE NOTE:  Individuals who register to vote within the 14-day period immediately preceding an election must appear in person at the township clerk’s office and provide 30 days proof of residency at the time of registration.  Proof of residency includes a utility bill or bank statement with your current address within our township, or a Michigan driver’s license or state ID with your current address within our township.

Get an Absent Voter Ballot:  Absent Voter (AV) Ballots can be obtained through the Township Clerk's Office. Absent Voter (AV) Ballots are available from the Clerk's office through Monday, November 4th until 4:00pm. If you request an AV Ballot on November 4th, you MUST vote in-house at the time you submit your application.

After receiving your AV ballot, you have until 8:00 p.m. on election day to complete the AV ballot and return it to the Clerk's Office. Please DO NOT take your AV Ballot to the precincts. Your AV ballot must have your signature and the date on the return envelope, and your signature on the envelope must match your signature on file.
 
The Clerk’s Office will be open on Saturday, November 2nd from 8:00am to 4:00pm to receive and process AV ballot applications.

AV Ballots can be dropped off at the Township office or mailed* to:

*When mailing your ballot, please allow time (2 to 3 business days) for mail delivery.  Ballots received after 8:00pm on election day CANNOT be counted.

If you are not able to come in during normal business hours (Monday through Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm) to return your AV ballot, you can leave your ballot in the 24 hour Drop Box available in the office vestibule until 8:00pm on election day.


Poll Hours:  Polls will open at 7:00am on Election Day and will remain open until 8:00pm.
